Ukraine uses the hryvnia as its official currency. Each hryvnia is then further divided into 100 kopiyka. The currency is issued, by the National Bank of Ukraine as both coins and notes. Coins come in the form of 1, 2, 5, 10, 25 and 50 kopiyok and then 1 hryvnia. Notes come in the form of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 hryven. Hryven is the plural of hryvnia.
On international financial markets, the currency is identified by the letters AUH and it is a currency that is subject to inflation, which hovers at just over the 11% mark.
